10 Truths I Learned: I wish someone told me sooner

10 Truths I Learned: I wish someone told me sooner

Let’s be honest, hindsight is 20/20, right? I spent way too much time stressing and way too little time living. Here’s what I wish I knew that I have learned, and still learning that can help make life a bit better:

  1. Everything will be fine: How many wasted hours freaking out about things that, in the end, totally worked themselves out? Breathe, my friend. With time, most things have a way of resolving themselves. Pro Tip: Start a journal, write your issues when you’re in the thick of it and reflect months later (works wonders)
  2. Assume the Best, Not the Worst: We all see the world through our own unique lenses. But what’s the point of assuming everyone’s out to get you, or things won’t work out? You’re basically setting yourself up for disappointment. Try a little optimism; it might surprise you.
  3. Forgive and Be Free: Forgiveness is a tricky beast. Sometimes I clung to anger like a life raft. But the truth is, letting go doesn’t mean condoning someone’s actions. It means releasing yourself from the burden of resentment. It’s a tough one, but it’s worth it.
  4. Invest Early (If you can): This one’s a game-changer. Setting financial goals young is a superpower. Don’t worry if you missed the boat — it’s never too late to start building your future. Automate that and forget it.
  5. Find Your Tribe: We all need people who have our backs. Remember, no man is an island (remember that quote). Finding connections as adults can be tough but no shame in putting yourself out there
  6. The Power of Being Real: True connection comes from vulnerability. Don’t be afraid to show your authentic self, even if it’s scary. If people don’t appreciate it, that’s on them at least you know you were authentic
  7. Failing is Okay: Failure happens. It’s part of the journey. But guess what? Every stumble is a chance to learn and grow. Embrace the experience, dust yourself off, and keep moving forward.
  8. You don’t need Permission: Don’t wait for someone else to greenlight your life. You are enough, just as you are. Go chase your dreams, go travel, permission not required.
  9. Stop Caring What They Think: We all get caught up in the world’s opinion. But here’s the secret: it doesn’t matter. Let go of the need for external validation and focus on what truly makes you happy. It’s always changing, so pay attention to how you feel
  10. Boundaries are Your BFF: Saying no and setting clear expectations is crucial for your well-being. Don’t be afraid to protect your time and energy.
